2022 SEASON

Tryouts:

Golfers must be registered for Girls Golf via the Fremd website

Golfers must have an up-to-date physical on file with Fremd

Golf course: Palatine Hills GC

Proper golf attire is required

Transportation: Golfers take the bus to most golf events (see below)

Cuts may be made after each day of tryouts - the coaching staff will keep 8-10 golfers on the JV team (typically freshmen and sophomores) and 6-8 golfers on the varsity team (typically juniors and seniors)

Tryouts are CLOSED to spectators
 

Monday, August 8

(No transportation available) Please meet at Palatine Hills GC (practice putting green) at 12:30pm.

Most players will have a 9 hole tryout.

Some players who are new to Fremd golf will have a skills-based tryout on the driving range and short game area.

End of tryout will vary - players will contact for you pick up when they are finished.

 

Tuesday, August 9

(No transportation available) Please meet at Palatine Hills GC (practice putting green) at 2:30pm.

Most players will have a 9 hole tryout.

Some players who are new to Fremd golf will have a skills-based tryout on the driving range and short game area.

End of tryout will vary - players will contact for you pick up when they are finished.

 

Wednesday, August 10

Please meet at Fremd in the BACK by the athletics entrance (near the auditorium parking lot). Have everything ready to go by 2:40 pm.

Players will have a 9 hole tryout.

Bus will transport players back to Fremd (TBD - same entrance)

 

Thursday, August 11

Team meeting - no golf equipment needed.

Friday, August 12

Team meetings after school for those players who have made the team.
 

What should I bring to tryouts?

Golf equipment (clubs, balls, tees, golf glove, golf cleats, etc.) , pull cart (if preferred), snacks/food, water and sunscreen.  Please wear golf / athletic clothing. On Tuesday you will bring money for greens fees/short game (???$ – paid to Palatine Hills Golf Course). 

Also, 18-24 new golf balls. In addition, any of these wedges would help -lob wedge 58-62 degrees, sand wedge 54-58 degrees or gap wedge 50-54 degrees.

What should I do with my golf clubs during the school day?

What are the costs involved for the season?

There are no fees to play during the golf season; however, we will run a fundraiser to help raise money for our program. Players will be responsible for personal expenses.
 

What can I do to best prepare to season?

What if I have an attendance issue?

Email Coach Malinowski at jmalinowski@d211.org with any attendance issues that may arise. Be sure to include NAME and YEAR IN SCHOOL.
