Summer Camp 2024 details will be published in late Winter or Spring. Dates will coincide with 1st semester of summer school
Summer Tournaments
- Golfers are HIGHLY encouraged to compete in tournaments over the summer. To do so, sign up through the Illinois Junior Golf Association and choose the tournaments that work for your schedule and budget. There is no better way to prepare for the pressure of competition golf!

Summer Practice Rounds
- To play local courses in our area at hugely discounted rates, you should join "Youth on Course" where your greens fees will be reduced to $5 (yes...your round will only cost $5).

Tryouts 2024:
- Golfers must be registered for Boys Golf via the Fremd website
- Golfers must have an up-to-date physical on file with Fremd
- Golf course: Hilldale in Hoffman Estates
- Proper golf attire is required
- Transportation: Golfers are responsible for their own transportation during tryouts
- Cuts may be made after each day of tryouts - the coaching staff will keep 8-12 golfers on the JV team (typically freshmen and sophomores) and 8-12 golfers on the varsity team (typically juniors and seniors)
- Tryouts are CLOSED to spectators
- Schedule for 2024:
- Monday, August 12
- Players who have been on the team before will have a 9-hole tryout at 2:30pm
- Players who are new to Fremd golf will have a skills-based tryout on the driving range, short game area, and putting green
- Tuesday, August 13
- All players meet at Hilldale for an 9-hole tryout at 2:30pm
- Wednesday, August 14
- All players meet at Hilldale for an 9-hole tryout at 2:30pm
- Thursday, August 10
- Possible playoff if needed at Hilldale at 2:30pm
- Team meeting at Fremd at 3pm for those players who have made the team
- Friday, August 11
- First Varsity/JV tournament at 2pm at Fox Run
- Regular Season:
- The season begins immediately after tryouts
- $220 covers all remaining costs for the season
- Transportation is provided
- Practices:
- 9 hole practice round or driving range practice session after school
- All golfers attend
- Mon-Thu
- Matches:
- 9 holes
- 6 golfers play, and the 4 best scores are counted
- All golfers attend home matches; only golfers in the match lineup attend away matches
- Mon-Thu
- Team events:
- Tournaments:
- JV has 4 Saturday tournaments
- Varsity has 4 Saturday tournaments, 3 Monday tournaments, and a post-season state-series
- All team competitions and events will be shared with the team via Google Calendar immediately after tryouts
- While the coaching staff encourages spectators to attend during competitions, practices are CLOSED to spectators
- Equipment information:
- Once a player makes the team, the $220 fee will cover any and all remaining costs. The player will also receive the following:
- Team golf bag (to be returned at the end of the season)
- Team rain suit (to be returned at the end of the season)
- Team scorecard holder (to be returned at the end of the season)
- Team polo 1
- Team polo 2
- Team pullover
- Team hat
- 1 team golf ball per day of play
- Note: List of items the player will keep may include more or different (but not fewer) items than listed above
